In January 2010 Al Durah Shipping asked Hamburg Trading House whether we can supply bulk rather than Product in Drums to their RoRo Ship “OMRAN”
Since Shell has stopped all bulk deliveries some 2 years ago in the port due to HSSE reasons, there was no easy yes to this.
But together with Al Durah Shipping, Shell, TRISTAR & Hamburg Trading House, we managed a delivery that was fully compliant with the Port authorities and Shell HSSE requirements.
It started with the “Pre Delivery” checklist which Mohammed Abdel Zahir, who is the Ship owner, together with the two TRISTAR truck operators worked through.

Mohamed was impressed by the professionalism of the TRISTAR operators and at the same time it was a good exercise for his own crew.
Al Durah Shipping was gaining a lot of time which they would have lost with a 7,000 ltr drum delivery. Mohamed is saying that not only a competitive price of the product itself is of importance. It is the total package that counts.

•    Safe delivery ( any spill or disruption is costing time and money )
•    Flexibility ( Mohamed asked the TRISTAR guys from time to time to lower & increase the pumping rate )
•    And operations in full compliance with all regulations. Any incident will not only cost money, but also reputation

The “OMRAN” is owned and managed by Mr. Abdelrahim . His son Mohamed Abdel Zahir is the (DPA) of this successful Family business

Prior to the pumping, the TRISTAR crew was checking whether all joints are tight and no product is leaking.

This photo is showing the “Flow Meter” with which Hamburg Trading House is measuring the volume / liters that will be supplied.
The customer has to witness that the flow meter is showing 0 prior to the pumping.
In addition Shell is sealing the pipeline and the seal will only be broken in front of the customer
